What is Metronidazole (Flagyl)?
Metronidazole ek antibiotic medicine hai jo bacterial aur parasitic infections ke liye use hoti hai. Ye khas tor par pet ke infection, dental infection, vaginal infections aur diarrhea (amoebiasis) me effective hoti hai.
Isay aksar brand name “Flagyl” ke tor par jana jata hai.

Uses / Istemaal:

  • Amoebic dysentery (amoebiasis)

  • Giardiasis (water-borne diarrhea)

  • Vaginal infection (bacterial vaginosis)

  • Gum infections, tooth abscess

  • Pelvic infections

  • Stomach ulcers caused by H. pylori (with other antibiotics)

How to Take Metronidazole?

  • Orally: Tablet ya syrup food ke baad lena behtar hota hai

  • IV drip: Severe infections me hospital setting me

  • Vaginal gel: Doctor ke instructions ke mutabiq

Dosage (General Idea):
(Doctor ki prescription zaroori hai)

  • Adults: 400mg 2–3 times daily

  • Children: 20–30mg/kg/day (in divided doses)

  • Duration: 5–10 days, depending on infection type

Side Effects:

  • Metallic taste in mouth

  • Nausea, vomiting

  • Diarrhea or constipation

  • Dizziness, headache

  • Dark-colored urine (normal effect)

  • In rare cases: allergic rash, liver issues

Warnings / Precautions:

  • Alcohol na piyen — severe vomiting aur cramps ho sakte hain

  • Pregnancy ke first trimester me use na karein (unless prescribed)

  • Breastfeeding women caution se use karein

  • Liver disease wale log doctor se mashwara zaroor karein

Storage:
